Oral Hygiene
Oral hygiene is the set of habits that keep teeth and gums healthy.
- It removes plaque, an invisible film of bacteria that forms after eating. If left untreated, it can turn into tartar (that hard deposit that only a dentist can remove) or cause cavities and gingivitis.
- It prevents bad breath and keeps teeth naturally white.
HOW IT WORKS
Everyday Life (And yes: beauty is a routine, even for your teeth!)
- Brush your teeth gently, from the gum line toward the tooth, without leaving any surface untouched.
- Brush your teeth morning and evening for 2 minutes. Less than 2 times is too little; more than 2 is an extra that only does you good. The choice is yours!
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush (manual or electric, your choice!) and a small amount of toothpaste.
- Floss or use an interdental brush at least once a day – it’s the only way to clean the spaces between your teeth where a toothbrush can’t reach.
- Rinse with mouthwash for extra protection.
- Limit sugars and acidic drinks.
PERIODICALLY
- Schedule a dental appointment every 6-12 months to assess your dental health and, if necessary, perform a more thorough cleaning to remove tartar. This will prevent cavities and gingivitis, improve your breath, and protect your braces, implants, and dentures.
- Schedule a pampering session for your mouth; let’s work out the best routine for you! You’ll fall in love with your smile all over again!
